All incidents involving volunteers must be reported to the Calgary Stampede’s Dispatch Team. This includes environmental spills, injuries, illnesses and property damage.

Whether on-Park or off-Park, when it is safe to do so;

  • Call Emergency Dispatch at 403-261-0595 or 911

  • Notify your Volunteer Leader

Calgary Stampede Dispatch:

  • Will complete a Volunteer Incident Notification Questionnaire with the Volunteer.

  • Calgary Stampede’s Park Patrol Team and/or Medical Team may be deployed to respond to incidents that occur On Park.

  • The completed Incident Notification Questionnaire is automatically sent to the applicable Committee Chair, Volunteer Services, HSE Support Committee and to the reporting Volunteer.

The Committee Chair:

  • Will collect any Volunteer Witness Statements

  • Must complete the (online) Volunteer Incident & Near-Miss Form within 24 hours of receipt of the Dispatcher’s Notification with assistance from Volunteer Services and the HSE Support Committee, if required.

  • The completed Volunteer Incident & Near-Miss Form is automatically sent to the applicable Committee Chair, Volunteer Services, HSE Support Committee and to the reporting Volunteer.

To promote learning and reduce the possibility of reoccurrence, every incident must be formally investigated. This includes the following:

  • Preliminary investigation by the Park Patrol Team (on-Park)

  • Initiating the Volunteer Incident & Near-Miss Form (Online) within 24 hours of receiving the Volunteer Incident & Near-Miss report. Volunteer Services and the HSE Support Committee will provide assistance.

  • Completed reports, including corrective actions, are automatically sent to the applicable Committee Chair, Volunteer Services and HSE Support Committee for final review and shared learnings.
